First job out of the new cake studio … how happy I was to make Kenyan roses for a wedding cake. Kenya is the place of my birth and so this cake had special meaning for me. The bride and groom asked for a three tier cake on an S Stand (which they provided). They wanted a simple cake with ivory icing decorated with sugar Kenyan roses, fine royal icing piped swags and chocolate, Victoria and Battenberg for the three cakes. The wired roses on the table are made with cold porcelain. I worried a lot as I assembled it at the venue (and left it overnight as I was heading off to Cornwall at the crack of dawn) as the top section of the stand did not seem to be level and I had visions of it sliding off!. Anyway, it didn’t and the bride and groom had a lovely day :) Sadly the lighting was not very good for photographs! This is the link to how I made the round Battenberg. http://cakesdecor.com/FifiCakes/blog/770
