I never could afford to get my girls a doll cake when they were growing up. Now that I am retired, I have taken up cake decorating more seriously, so maybe I can make a few dollars to supplement my pension. For my younger daughter’s 28th birthday, I finally was able to give her a doll cake made by myself. My daughter works in an Alzheimer’s unit in a nursing home. I took the cake there to surprise her and not only was she surprised, the resident’s were quite attracted to the cake as well. It wasn’t all that hard to make, following the directions in the Wilton Wonder Mold Box. But now that I have learned more techniques in my Wilton Courses, I’m sure I will be able to be more creative in future doll cakes.
