This was a surprise birthday cake for one of Coffea Coffee’s (local coffee shop) partner’s birthday surprise gathering. He loves ancient ruins and have always wanted to visit the Pyramids of Giza. I’ve themed the cake around this and with the things he loves. Like fishing, music (note the headphones), the logo of his fave documentary channel on his T-shirt and his fave shoe brand.
The hieroglyphs on the pyramid spells ‘Reuben’ with the male symbol at the end and the tent spells ‘Coffea Coffee’ (hope I got this right!). Oh! And I thought it wouldn’t hurt to have a Mummy companion enjoying a cup of latte. Both pyramid and tent has Red Velvet with Swiss Meringue Buttercream underneath. A big thanks to Lesley from Royal Bakery for her tutorial on palm trees which I used as a guide for the palm trees on this cake! More at http://on.fb.me/14Rb05u
