~The Sunset Butterfly Cake, hand painted cake & sugar butterflies. I wanted the cake to have a beautiful sunset effect as Rene (birthday girl & butterfly lover) is South African & I wanted the colours to be like a South African sunset to remind her of home so I airbrushed the cake for a soft variation of colour. When Rene saw the cake she cried – but happy tears! Phew!! :-)

Thanks Emine x – I used a butterfly patchwork cutter & made them from petal paste so they would dry hard & in different positions, and then painted them. Very easy to do & quite relaxing – the most stressful thing was fixing them on to the cake! LOL
