I made this Cinderella cake for a little girl turning three who loves Cinderella! I wanted to capture the magic of the transformation of Cinderella in her rags to her ball gown for the ball. I put small LED lights under her dress and pointing at her so she would look like she was in mid-spell. She is elevated and I put Aluminum foil around the plastic pillar that holds her up to help reflect the lights. She also has a wired silver star ribbon wrapped around her and ending in the Fairy Godmother’s wand. The cake itself is an Aussie Chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache and covered in white fondant. I borrowed a faux finish technique of sponging small circles of different colors together to achieve the color on the cake itself. But instead of wet paint, I used dry petal dusts and luster dusts overlapping each other. Gus and Jaq the happy mice are on pumpkins made of fondant.
