Had the idea for this cake for a long time. Wanted to try it last Mother’s Day but never got around to it. So Heidi came to me with the idea of doing a anniversary cake for her parent’s 30th anniversary. She said that her parent’s went to Holland for their honeymoon and they love Dutch potteries and orchids… so I had to sell her the design immediately and good thing she liked it! The flower pot itself is a lemon cake with strawberry butter cream and its hand painted to look like the Dutch style pottery. I had asked Heidi to send me a photo of her parents so I could include it in the painting. But since I love my new edible printing so much, I decided to include a small framed photo of their actual wedding picture (you will see more of the edible imaging in my next cake). And in my research for, I found out that pearl is for the 30th milestone so I included a single pearl and a gum paste seashell by the photo. Everything in this cake is edible except for the supports…Think this is better than my original idea since it now tells a story…

Its beautiful! I have wanted to try this idea for awhile now too but I don’t think I could do it anywhere even close to how beautifully you have done it. Amazing job!
