I had the privilege of creating this cake for a wonderful lady by the name of Diana who turned 70 over the weekend. Diana is such a warm and loving mother and grandmother who would give the shirt off her back for her family and because of this love, Sally, her daughter wanted a cake that was vintage yet bright and cheerful at the same time. A surprise birthday party was thrown in Diana’s honour amongst all her loved ones which was celebrated in style at Summer Salt. We were totally ecstatic to hear from Sally and the manager of Summer Salt that their pastry chef was very impressed with not just the look of the cake but also the taste. For this occasion, we did chocolate mudcake as well as raspberry nut in alternating tiers! Diana, happy birthday and we hope that you had a blast! xx
