Large cake to feed 50 with all the birthday gals favourite things on top of a French boudoir style dressing table. Apparently it sat in the centre of the room for a surprise 40th party at a swanky place in Glasgow City Centre.
I hand made the cake board with 3 sheets and the top sheet had the extra front drawer which I wanted to lay open. The mirror was hand crafted from foam board and fondant. It took a long time to cut all the intricate parts and shape the fondant over it. The lights are also fondant attached with icing. Initially the mirror was able to swing, but I misjudged how heavy the lights would be and it made it bottom heavy, so in the end I had to attach it so that it wouldn’t fall forward. Everything else on the cake was edible including the perfume, fake bake and drawers on top.
My most time consuming cake since I started 11 months ago.
It’s really awesome. Great job on this!
