A design from Debbie Brown’s book ‘Gorgeous and Gruesome cakes for Children’ which I seemed perfect to celebrate my uncles 50th birthday. He is a big fan of HR Gieger’s artwork (the man behind the Alien films). I tweaked the design slighted with the addition of the finger claw – a nod to a favourite piece of jewellery. This is my fourth attempt at a cake from Debbie’s book and I think it might be my favourite one so far.

It’s a 6" ball cake with a 6" round sandwiched in between with chocolate ganache
