I made this dragon cake for my nephew Blake’s 8th birthday. The board is covered with fondant that I textured and painted. The ‘cave’ is chocolate cake, filled with chocolate ganache, and covered w/ modeling chocolate and fondant. I used food colors to add different colors to the cave, and I also tried to paint on ‘moss’ as well. I really enjoyed the painting part. My dragon pair are sculpted from rice cereal treats and modeling chocolate, and a tiny bit of black fondant.

I love the dragons, did you shape the rice crispy treats then cover them in modelling chocolate? Brilliant.
sugar and art - perfect combination! sugarmagic22@gmail.com
SugarMagicCakes – thank you :) Yes, I made a rough shape w/ rkt, and built out areas (like the tail and legs) w/ modeling chocolate, then covered w/ scales.
