Chocolate Cake Bonfire and Chocolate Cake Gunpowder Kegs. The Backdrop is a hand painted marzipanned cakeboard. I use edible food colouring to paint the boards. Board painting (or any painting for that matter) is something I have only just started trying out. I have not had art lessons so the artwork is pretty random and totally unconventional! It’s all for fun and I don’t take it seriously but I will keep trying to improve anyway! :0) the Guy and ‘firewood’ is made from home made sugarpaste. I use Alan Dunn’s flowerpaste recipe. The Cakes are coated in marzipan and brushed with edible dusting powders. I do not use moulds, everything is shaped by hand.
