I love making figures using modelling paste and sugar paste and having the opportunity to create a classic Fairy Tale figure was the perfect combination to be part of this competition. My piece is inspired by Ursula, the Octopus witch from the classic story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andresen. I didn´t want to make her the classic Disney Villain but a beautiful sea witch capable of enchanting anyone, I believe she is both dark, mysterious, and beautiful at the same time. She is made using sugar paste and modelling paste and an internal structure capable of support her tentacles. She is accompanied by her two pets the two ugly eels. I loved making a villain instead of the classic princess and create this dark but beautiful creature as I believe fairy tales always show both sides, the good and the bad, the beauty and the darkness. I really hope you like her.
