Azulejo

Azulejo

I call this cake, Azulejo. The glazed, coloured tiles are reminiscent of Spanish and Portuguese architecture and artistry. I’ve always been attracted to them and the more vintage they are, the better. I love seeing their natural patina, cracks and breakage. Just like in today’s society, there is beauty in the broken pieces and there is power in embracing imperfections. Our broken pieces becomes part of a story, rather than the end of it. Every cracks and scars are highlighted with gold, making them more beautiful. I paired this cake with dogwood flowers, symbolising strength and beauty amidst all the challenges.
