This is a small birthday cake for my next door neighbour and bestie, who turned 60. Because of my grandson babysitting duties, I only had a day to bake and decorate. Cake is carrot, with a quick messy finish cream cheese icing. I wanted to paint directly on the cake, but just didn’t have time for icing to set up and harden. So I baked a fondant plaque, attached, while icing was still setting up. Painted fall trees, added a silk fall leaf and a fondant apple 🍏 I had saved from a previous cake I made. Crushed oatmeal cookies for dirt.
