I have been dying to make a birdcage cake so I thought I would give it a go for my mum’s birthday. This is a 6inch round 8inch tall birdcage made from chocolate fudge cake and layered with vanilla buttercream.

I used my favourite colours Gooseberry, Dusky Pink and Ivovy and included lots of lace, frills and pearls.

It has been a learning curve but i’m really pleased with the outcome but I would make some changes if I get the opportunity to make another.
