Wedding cake I made last week. Request was 3rd tier old rose/pastel, 2nd tier old rose marbled with gold accent stripes (i.c. 24K edible gold), 1st tier white, and a central bouquet of fresh flowers in also old rose, white and green.
Due to an error at the Florist, the weddingplanner came up with different flowers, so I had to adjust the colour of the wedding cake to match the actual flowers. I tried to come as close to old rose as possible, still matching the flowers delivered.
Pretty stressful to try to make a ‘good colour’, but these colours were actually pretty ok as it turned out, matching the colours of the wedding couple’s home (where the wedding was). Pfff, such a relief :-)
The filling was raspberry bavarois, half-sweet raspberry jam, and white chocolate mousse with lemon zest.
