La mia opera racconta la mia storia e quella di tanti guerrieri come me, che vorrebbero chiudere un capitolo della propria vita, talvolta un intero libro fitto di momenti luminosi e oscuri e archiviarlo in una libreria, per osservarlo da lontano. A volte è solo una storia che conosciamo o una vita intera con la malattia, il racconto di una parentesi di vita o le prime pagine di un percorso appena iniziato: questo libro può rappresentare le nostre esperienze e molte altre. Ognuno ha pagine e pagine, in cui sono scritti tutti i momenti che ha vissuto con la malattia: le lettere degli amici che ti consolano, le diagnosi, le ricerche scientifiche e le nuove terapie, i fiumi di parole che ognuno scrive a se stesso e agli altri, per lasciare un ricordo di sé. Ecco perché ogni pagina è diversa dall’altra, alcune più colorate e allegre, alcune più cupe e a volte piegate come se le volessimo nascondere. E noi siamo lì che dominiamo questo libro, con tutte le forze che abbiamo fino allo sfinimento, in ginocchio ma con la voglia di farcela, spingiamo le copertine per chiudere il libro. Donna o uomo che tu sia, non importa, tu sai che solo quando avrai chiuso questo libro potrai tornare ad avere l’identità e i colori che questo male ti ha tolto.

My work tells my story and that of many warriors like me, who would like to close a chapter of their lives, sometimes a whole book full of luminous and dark moments and store it in a bookcase, to observe it from afar. Sometimes it’s just a story that we know or a whole life with the disease, the story of a parenthesis of life or the first pages of a path just started: this book can represent our experiences and many others. Each one has pages and pages, in which are written all the moments that he has lived with the disease: the letters of the friends who console you, the diagnoses, the scientific research and the new therapies, the rivers of words that everyone writes to himself and to others, to leave a memory of themselves. That’s why each page is different from the other, some more colorful and cheerful, some darker and sometimes bent as if we wanted to hide it. And we are there that we dominate this book, with all the strength we have until exhaustion, kneeling but with the desire to make it, we push the covers to close the book. Woman or man you are, it does not matter, you know that only when you have closed this book can you return to having the identity and the colors that this evil has taken away from you.

Mi trabajo cuenta mi historia y la de muchos guerreros como yo, a quienes les gustaría cerrar un capítulo de sus vidas, a veces un libro lleno de momentos luminosos y oscuros, y guardarlo en una estantería para observarlo desde lejos. A veces es solo una historia que conocemos o una vida entera con la enfermedad, la historia de un paréntesis de vida o las primeras páginas de un camino que acaba de comenzar: este libro puede representar nuestras experiencias y muchas otras. Cada uno tiene páginas y páginas en las que están escritos todos los momentos que ha vivido con la enfermedad: las cartas de los amigos que lo consuelan, los diagnósticos, las investigaciones científicas y las nuevas terapias, los ríos de palabras que todo el mundo se escribe a sí mismo y a otros, a dejar un recuerdo de ellos mismos. Es por eso que cada página es diferente de la otra, algunas más coloridas y alegres, otras más oscuras y otras dobladas como si quisiéramos ocultarla. Y estamos allí para dominar este libro, con toda la fuerza que tenemos hasta el agotamiento, arrodillado pero con el deseo de hacerlo, empujamos las sábanas para cerrar el libro. Mujer o hombre que eres, no importa, sabes que solo cuando hayas cerrado este libro puedes volver a tener la identidad y los colores que este mal te ha quitado.
