The Caketastics team got together, masterminded by Daniel Diéguez to create a collaborations showpiece at Cake International beginning November. Daniel did the main central piece, which was quite incredible, then there were all kinds of features pertaining to the Rococo Madame Antoinette theme.
This was my fighting cream rococo scone 2’ high. The head is cake, the modelled body has an internal structure holding it up as top heavy. I also made the cakestand and platter it’s on. All crockery, cutlery, egg shells etc, made from Saracino products and hand painted.
I had to leave the show early so left it all behind. I was delighted to hear Karen Porteleo and Daniel each took a plate back home with them.
There is an album on mycake page showing many of the amazing feature pieces on the stand.

Everything is so incredibly realistic…except for the wicked scone, that is! Gorgeous work! My favorite thing is the painted fruits and flowers. Looks exactly like real fine china.
