I used rice paste for the first time and love it. I was hoping the flowers would not be as fragile as with my gumpaste, but that is not the case. These are extremely brittle, and they took a beating as I arranged them. But I think it adds to the rustic design. I made this cake for my mom. She’s been declining due to Alzheimer’s and as fragile as these flowers. Any day she remembers her family is cause for celebration.
