This wedding cake was for friends of mine, so I got to have free reign with the design. They loved the design but the only change was just use all soft colours as I originally imagined a lot of strong colour.
There was a lot of different styles in the cake, with the late request to add the elephant topper, which was to replicate the picture on the wedding invite of elephants in Indian style attire. I was worried it would clash.
The beaded tier took 2 days of work but was somehow relaxing.
The idea of the wreath of flowers came from what the bride wore at her hen party, which was a crown of fresh flowers!
I wanted to add as much gold as possible, and wanted to have the cake standing on gold legs. the board was covered in hard sugar in various colours.
