I was thrilled with how this turned out – I loved the bright colours on the pink cake, and I finished with time to spare…
Then when my customer messaged me to say she was on her way, I checked my invoice again as I always do when I file it, and the unicorn and rainbow were supposed to be pastels, not bright colours! 🙈 Ugh!
I phoned her and said I would be bringing it through that evening as I had to redo the topper. Thank goodness for Facebook group tips – I baked the rainbow to make sure it would stay upright as I didn’t have a few days to let it dry!
I managed to take the topper apart without doing too much damage, and redid the candle holders. It looked great, but I could kick myself for making myself a few hours extra work! 😂

I’m not crazy about it when people stab my cakes full of candles, so I try to make sure I add the candles and include it in the decoration!
