Here I present my piece the pollution of plastic for ACADA collab Australia – changing the world one sweet step at a time

Our children are the ones that will see the devastating effects of plastic pollution the most

The seas are already full of plastic so now it is in our food and water and is killing the marine life

We have to find a way to eliminate our plastic use but our way of life does not make this easy

The piece is 15cm tall on a 20cm cake drum and is made from saracino with the seal and boy on a wire
Armature

The bottles are made from gelatine
I made
Mounds from hand made crushed bottles and from dolls house bottles
The sand is a mixture of crushed nuts and ice cream wafers and sweets

Oh my word! So many amazing cakes in the same place at once!

Oh my! I adore this cake and SUCH AN IMPORTANT message. Such a moving cake, love it! Beautifully worked too!

This is a such a heartbreaking piece, Rhianydd and so important! I’ve recently seen plastic bottle and can (six-pack) holders made of a material that is good for marine life to eat. Fabulous idea. You did an amazing job!

That’s awesome Rhianydd!!!! ♥♥♥ It’s a fantastic piece and so close to my heart! Some weeks ago I started to avoid plastic packagings and I found many things that can easily be replaced. It just has to become a new habit. The plastic pollution is horrible and a serious problem for all of us.

Thank you!

Yes such an awful problem and almost too late for us even if we completely stop all plastic use

It’s hard not to feel defeated about it.

I watched a ridiculous comedy film years ago called idyocracy (can’t spell
It) and so many things from that film are coming true!
They had plastic
Rubbish everywhere, one use items for everything
Horrible!

Oh my word! So many amazing cakes in the same place at once!

This is a beautiful piece ❤
