We sometimes pay minimal attention to the calyx of flowers.. usually added at the end and mostly in a hurry ..but I chose to give it its due while making the sunflower ..I wanted it to have the delicate and fragile tips which look so beautiful if you care to pay attention to the actual flower. I made sure to have the actual flower in front of me, so that I could replicate the size, proportions and movement and I guess it payed off, don’t you think? :) The biggest challenge though was to ensure that they didn’t snap off once dry. I looove my sunflower calyx …maybe even more that the flower ;)
