I’m so excited to have had the opportunity to participate for a 2nd year in the Carnival Cakers Collaboration. This year our focus was on Mardi Gras and all of the magic of the traditions of Carnival in New Orleans.
Last year, in our Venetian Carnival Collab I took a more abstract approach of the topic. This year I decided to go full on New Orleans Mardi Gras. My goal was to have a cake that screamed the theme the second you saw it!
Though I considered other ideas, I changed my design at the last minute to include the Green, Purple, and Gold colors as well as to incorporate a mask that is popular on the Krew Float and the Harlequin print that is so commonly found in New Orleans design.
I hope this leave you, without question, thinking of all that New Orleans offers at Mardi Gras!
