My Inspiration:
This cause is very special to me, cancer has deeply touched my family this year.
As inspiration for my piece, I immediately thought of a young Australian, Campbell Remess (AKA Bumble) from Tasmania who while may be only 13 but has shown he has the biggest heart for sick Children, especially those with Cancer, he is inspiring people and is famous around the world for his campaign to brighten the lives of sick children by making teddy bears for them. A big thank you to his Mum, Sonja for permission.
For the past few years he has spent all his spare time making teddy bears for sick children. Yes, that’s right he sews the most beautiful bears (he made his first bear at the age of 9). He also raffles and fundraises to send Cancer sufferers on Cruises to help them recover from treatment… amazing right!
So I decided to make my version of a Project 365 Teddy sitting on a sugar version of Campbells Timber Kindness Boxes that he also sells to fundraise (all made from cake) as a tribute to him and ‘his own bear’
Campbell has sent out more than 1,000 teddy bears across the world, raised more than $50,000 for charity.
If you’d also like to support Campbell and his work he has a website and Facebook page where you can follow him called Project 365.
