I made this little 6" cake for my friend Ashley’s birthday. I wanted to make her something that incorporated dragon flies as she really likes them. I found an inspiration cake online that was done with a floral bas relief and gold bugs that caught my eye. As the image did not have a watermark I am not able to give credit to that cake decorator for their design. To achieve the bas relief look I used the Sugar Flowers Mold by Karen Davies. Love that mold! I added a little spray of gumpaste hydrangeas for a pop of color.

Ashley loves sweet potatoes so I tried out a new recipe called Southern Sweet Potato Cake that I iced with honey SMBC. It was soo good! She loved the cake :-)
