With a butterfly on her brow and the shape of a butterfly’s wing on her cheek, my piece was design to show the bravery and courage of those afflicted with EB for the collaberation The Butterfly Project.
EB Awareness Week is October 25-31.
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is often described as, “The worst disease you’ve never heard of.” Those born with Epidermolysis Bullosa are often called “Butterfly Children” because as the analogy goes, their skin is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly. Imagine each day having to lance blisters and rebandage a child racked with pain. This year we’ve decided to honor the brave children and adults who deal with this disease every day in the best way we know: through cake artistry. This collaboration has been a labor of love. Please enjoy these works of art and donate generously to the fight against EB. 🦋
