As a little girl I was always fascinated by the beautiful real life Princess – Princess Diana. She mesmerised the world with her compassion, strength, determination and moreso with her clothes. Everyone wanted to see what her next outfit would be and she had the ability to look stunning in everything she wore. I loved the Catherine Walker Elvis style dress and I close to create my own interpretation of this as a cake. I wanted the shaped cake to represent an elegant body shape and spent several hours sticking the various size pearls all over the cake!! I cannot begin to imagine how many hours the actual dress took to complete!! She was also known as the English rose so I made to roses to sit on the cake out of flower paste. I wanted to keep the cake simple and elegant so chose to use the navy ribbon with diamanté on the board to represent the choker necklace that she wore on several occasions with this dress.
