This is my contribution to the EIF part 2 collaboration.
This shining romantic cake was inspired by one of the gorgeous lehengas from the Gaurav Gupta India Couture 2016 collection. His signature exaggerated ruffles are represented by large folded fondant pieces covered with silver luster with hand painted gold gel paints. The mint drapes were made using poured Flexique. Over one hundred strands of pearls were made from gum paste and then strung from a ribbon created from wafer paper treated with Flexique glue. The cake is finished with delicate sugar orchids with deep magenta centers. The inspiration lehenga is in the detail shots.
