A shabby chic birthday cake for my daughter Samantha. Bottom two tiers are dummies with weathered wafer paper panels and grey/ blue tiles with copper and white discs. Top 7" tier is a pina colada cake, filled with lime and coconut buttercream. Sam isn’t crazy about fondant, or smbc. Icing is all buttercream. Even the round balls around the cake, are rolled bc. It’s been so rainy and humid here, my bc had a hard time setting up. Even this morning, after sitting all night it wasn’t firm enough to use my smoothers. Just had too much to do today to be popping the cake in and out of the freezer to get the sharp edges. It is what it is. Flower topper is made from smooth foam craft sheets. As are the petals on the coffee filter paper fan. Stamens are clay craft clay.
