This double barrel chocolate cake was made for a little girls 7th birthday party and the theme was rock star. It was totally left up to me to design the cake. I searched many websites for inspiration and after putting it all together I completed the cake, showed the mum who was blown away and said I captured everything about her daughter in the cake. I’m pretty pleased.
It took 4 days to make. I used Satin Ice baby pink to cover the cake after coating in chocolate ganache. Then using Americolor gel colours I painted on a lepoard print design around the cake. I finished it all off by adding a set of piano keys round the cake board, a leather look studded bracelet around the base of the cake, a gumpaste set of star glasses with electric guitars on and dusted in glitter. Gold stars and the number 7 were cut out and placed on curly wire which were then inserted into a straw and into the cake. A quick clean up with paint of vodka and voila!!!
