I made this project for Sport Cakes for Peace Collaboration I have chosen baseball sport that i love it so much. Baseball is become my favorite because my son is a baseball player and he has many records for the game. It took so much time and effort to following him from one competition to another that’s why I love this game so much so I dedicate this piece of sugar art to honour all the Olympic game and players around the world.
In my cake, i make a figure of catcher on the top holding a big baseball ball on a baseball glove… which the figure have a really big smile which is he satisfied with the game and on the side of the cake i made a sequence of pitcher who throwing the ball on the field, so when you move the cake around, it looks like that the pitcher is throwing the ball. Hope you like it :)
Sport Cakes for Peace is a cake collaboration created by Elisabete Caseiro from @BetySugarland – Cake Design by Elisabete Caseiro to celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, April 6th, 2017. On August 23 of 2013, the UN proclaimed that the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace would be celebrated April 6 every year. This day is a celebration of the power of sport to drive social change, community development and to foster peace and understanding. This date also marks the opening of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896. This was an open collaboration and everyone who was interested could participate creating a Cake, Cookies or Sugar Piece representing this theme. At the end we were 50 cake decorators from 22 countries all over the world and we tried to cover a wide range of sports.
