Citrine Geode Wedding Cake

I have to tell y’all about this crazy delivery, because it was an off-road adventure I wasn’t expecting! I knew the ceremony and reception was at a private home, but I DIDN’T know it was on a small cliff backing up to a river. Absolutely gorgeous, but when I walked behind the house I was very concerned. There were flights and flights of steps to descend and this was a tall tiered cake!

A gentleman standing there when I was surveying the situation asked if I was in a vehicle that could jump a curb. He said I could drive down behind the house, as that’s how the tent, etc had been delivered. GULP!

So I hopped in the non-4-wheel-drive Cakemobile (my beloved Kia Sorento) and they showed me where I could get in. I eased over the high curb, down a long steep bumpy grassy hill, and across a small field dodging stumps. The cake didn’t even wobble! No extra structure was used, as I didn’t anticipate that kind of delivery. I build ’em strong!!!! And as you can see in the gorgeous photo below of the yellow geode cake, the river setting was awesome!

The inside of the middle tier is rainbow, the flowers are sugar, & the topper is also a sugar geode.

Cakes ROCK!!! Christy Seguin, Austin, TX
