I have designed and created a very special First Communion cake for my Son ‘Zereth’! This 3 teir cake showcases the story of my boy, trying to rush to church in his pure white attire after playing around with his football. Zereth attended Catechism for a few years and always missed football practice to ensure he did not miss his attendance in church. To appreciate his mature level of priorities in life, I designed a cake to ensure his story is depicted in the visuals. The towering church shows that he’s going a long way to get to the top to see the light of God! The religions pictures on the Hexagon tower are very significantly seen in many churches and a beautiful portrayal of Christian Art. These glass paintings are edible prints on icing paper. Finally, the little chapel (all edible) on top is a simple significance that when you take your prayers to God with a pure heart, there is nothing more beautiful in life than your union with the Almighty! Each tier was a different flavor, bottom tier being chocolate, middle tier was orange with buttercream and fresh orange compote, top tier was a simple vanilla and buttercream cake with fresh strawberry compote, I am very happy to say that though huge each and every piece of the cake was royally savored and appreciated by our loving family and friends! The best pay off I received for all the efforts put into this cake is when Zereth took the first bit and exclaimed “Oh…. This cake is so good!” Thank you, Son for being my biggest cake critique, Stay blessed!
