I have almost forgot to share with you my creation made for Cake Central Magazine. It’s inspired on Bernini’s Bust of Louis XIV. I was fascinated as i saw this sculpture bust of the king displayed in Versailles Palace. Back then in autumn 2015 i couldn’t imagine to create it in cake!!!

As this sculpture is made of marble, I gave the bottom tier and some elements around the 2nd tier of the cake a marble look. I hand modelled the Bust of Louis XIV and the Fleur de Lis, and use molds for the other decorations on the tiers by cutting and putting them together in the desired forms and shapes. To make the cake looks bold as in the epoch of the Sun King i have given the decorations a touch of gold.

The cake on the cover of the magazine, made by Jackie Shaffer, the editor-in-chief of Cake Central is really a masterpiece.
