This was the cake I made for my gorgeous son who has just turned 22. It was his birthday a few weeks back but I had an order so he had to wait! Anyway, I wanted to make a meerkat as we all love meerkats in our family and Alex reminds me of one when he first wakes up in the morning and sits bolt upright!

This stands about 14 inches high and is completely edible. He’s nearly all chocolate fudge cake, with just the head and log sculpted from RKT.

I airbrushed the board and the meerkat himself, then added painted details with cocoa butter. He’s made from ordinary sugarpaste with just a little modeling chocolate for his fluffier areas!
