Was thrilled when approached to make a Nyonya cake for a wedding reception dinner. The bride really loved the Peranakan cake that I’d entered for Cake Challenge Malaysia 2015, especially the pink embroidery section, so we kept that, and designed the batik layer and accompanying florals with reference to the colour and design theme on her wedding invite. Then totally gobsmacked to find, on delivering the cake on Sunday, that my cake would be sharing the spotlight on a Nyonya themed dais designed by Malaysian fashion designer Rizalman’s Glam Weddings! Really blown away by the awesome decor.
