Hi, my name is Mariska van Bers. I’m baking cakes for about 5 years now with my own company Kaatje Fondant. This cake was a special and an emotional design. When I said yes too this collaboration I couldn’t imagine how it would be too loose a child. A couple of weeks before the end of the project I got the news of my sister in law. Her pregnancy was going to be terminated and my nephew Sam was born after 23 weeks of pregnancy. It gave the project a whole other meaning. I’ve tried to make it look like all the children in heaven are looking down at their parents. And the parents looking back at them in memorie of them.
