Gold & Purple royal wedding style cake.
It was inspired by old fashioned wedding cake from 1934.
On The 29th of November 1934 princess Marina of Greece & Denmark, daughter of Prince Nicolaus of Greece and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia married the youngest son of King George V, the Duke of Kent.
Duke of Kent and Princess Marina of Greece’s wedding cake featured Grecian-style pillars between the tiers in honour of Marina’s nationality.
This is the modern version without Royal Icing which is typically used in royal wedding cakes. Some of the flowers are made of gelatine . Golden colour was used to emphasize the elegance and the importance of celebration.
