This was my showpiece for the Contra Costa Cake and Sugar Art Show in Concord, CA last weekend. The theme was Fairy Tales and Other Bedtime Stories.

I chose the one nearest and dearest to my heart, Into the Woods, by Stephen Sondheim. It’s a brilliantly clever mashup of several classic fairy tales. In my piece, I have featured elements from four of the most recognizable storylines: Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel.

Stats:
- Total construction time was about 36 hours.
- The cake consists of a 10" round, a 8" double barrel, and a 6" round, all covered in LMF, then airbrushed.
- All decorative details were done in modeling chocolate, then airbrushed.
