This was a 4-tier square wedding cake set-up in a barn.. this time of year, it is hotter than usual~ 90 degree’s! Yes, i had two outdoor barn weddings today with a 4 hour travel time for both, not including set-up time. I made it though! Timing as you know is of the essence when you have a hot day with no a/c in the venue. This cake was buttercream frosted with an up and down pattern done with an icing spatula. I then placed a darker brown ribbon with a woven see thru burlap over it, for contrast as the raffia ribbon i tied over the ribbon would have not been enough contrast. then i staggered the tiers so they were not aligned straight up and down. The cake was stacked onsite, then fresh sunflowers placed on the cake and on a silver cake plateau. I also placed raffia around the base of the cake stand, and some fresh sunflowers as well. She had a wooden cake topper, so i placed flowers accordingly, not to hide the details. Thanks for looking! :)
