This cake is, by far, the most involved cake I’ve ever made. A week ago I was approached by fellow member of the Castlecaulfield Horticultural Society (of which my father and I are both members) and asked if I could make a cake to launch their bid for the title of best village in the UK in the RHS’s Britain in Bloom contest. The brief was that each side should depict floral displays within the village and that Britain in Bloom would be spelled out in sugar blossoms. One week and 30 solid hours of work later this was the result.
