I’ve decided to use local lady Angie Kelly for my piece after hearing the lovely story behind one of her dresses
Angie was fashion designer in Dubai working in one of the leading fashion houses, Ghanati..When she designed the dress for an engagement party for a young Arab girl called Huda. She was invited to be a guest at the wedding which took place in one of the lavish hotels in Dubai. The dress had hand painted the cupids using Michael Angelo as her inspiration. Angie had to stretch the duchess satin onto a wooden frame so She could use it like a canvas. The paintings took her weeks. After the engagment party she gave Angie the dress as a gift and she has the original dress today..
