The platypus is a very unique Australian mammal, it has an amazing mix of characteristics, it’s a mammal, yet lays eggs, has webbed feet and a bill like a duck, tail like a beaver, fur like an otter, semi- aquatic, plus the male has poisonous spikes on its back feet – what a combination!!!
