Is this the first wind chime cake, because I have never seen another one! The top piece of the “wind chime” in a Starfish and is made from Vanilla Bean Sponge cake covered in chocolate ganache and modeling chocolate. The whole thing was then coated in a mix of orange, red, white, and yellow non pariels. The strings that all the shells are strung on is fishing line. All of the shells and driftwood pieces were made out of Satin Ice fondant and colored with petal dusts. The middle string is also longer and features an anchor and two compass rose. This was definitely a challenge, especially figuring out how to suspend the cake and keep the strings of shells attached, plus everyone that saw me making it was VERY confused as to why there were a bunch of strings hanging off my cake!
