TAJ STREET FOOD CAKE CART
I Wanted To depict Agra’s cuisine on a global platform through my cake ! Inspiration: We decided to depict the street food of Agra, Agra ki Chaat. Generally it’s sold on road side carts. So we created a miniature cart. The stoves, griddle, utensils, water drum, dustbin, everything is created out of fondant or gumpaste. All items are in proportion to the size and dimensions of objects in a real cart in a chaat gali and the food too!! The golgappas took max time to create. The golgappa water is mint flavoured yummy jelly. The meethi chatni is made of strawberries. The cake has a Taj silhouette on top to depict the seventh wonder of world. It has a hand painted Mumtaz. The menu is hand made with chalk board too. The cart has lights in a roof just as in a real cart. The dustbin, the cleaning rag, the nails to hang it, everything has been put together in minutest detail! The road has also been depicted! The miniature kulcha, pao, leaf dona or the disposable bowl made out of leaves were added as another detail. The cart appears to be standing in the backdrop of Taj, while the thela wala works furiously to prepare for the evening rush.
