This cake was commissioned for Volunteers Week which is happening across the UK this week to give thanks to the thousands of kind souls who donate time, help and energy to those that need it.

The colour inspiration is loosely based on the red, white, blue of our Union Jack, and remarkably it was the first time ever I made wafer paper flowers! Not quite sure why I waited so long frankly…

Inside we went Jam and Jerusalem as the saying goes – vanilla cake, homemade strawberry & vanilla freezer jam & vanilla SMBC. It was enjoyed by many UK volunteers along with a nice cuppa!
