It’s my daughter’s birthday today. Made & decorated in 2 days while Sam & her family went for a quick little trip away. She, her hubby and my 2 yr old grandson are currently living with us. I like quiet while I’m decorating, and you don’t get that with a 2 yr old around!! Ha Ha!! Sam is also 8 months pregnant, and she’s had a rough go, so I wanted to try and make her day special. Big party tonight!!
Bottom tier  is chocolate chip infused with pineapple simple syrup and rum extract. Filled with thick homemade caramel with caramel skor bits, her fav. Covered in the tree bark effect. Used the tutorial by Rebekah Naomi cake design. Rushed it a bit, so the bark effect is not as perfect as I would have liked. Hydrangeas are made with scissors and my little hands.
Top tier is fake and attached is a photo of my daughter taken by her talented husband. Pic is surrounded by a gumpaste frame. It’s unseasonably warm here, and my frame unfortunately sagged with the humidity. 😢l
