I made this cake as a contribution to my workplace Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraising function to raise funds for the Cancer Council for cancer research.

The teacup is made from gumpaste and each little edible bead is hand placed individually – certainly a labour of love. The cake board is decorated with edible lace and fondant bunting with the word “hope” embossed in it. I chose the colour black to represent melanoma cancer which has affected both my parents, and also members of my very close friend’s family. This was my first teapot cake and fondant teacup and was a fun and challenging cake to make for such a worthy cause.

I hope you like it :)

Stunning job, Kylie! Both the cup and teapot are perfect. Looks like black bisque.
