I have been making Joel’s birthday cake year after year and it’s always been a plane because he is crazy about planes .But when I was sent this reference picture of the Air Asia aeroplane I was worried as to how I am going to sculpt it and make it 3 D with cream .Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone lets you explore your creativity .I made a rectangular cake to add the runway and lights for a more realistic look than the picture sent. The entire body and cake is whipped cream ,only the wings runway and runway lights are fondant .Have added a very sweet picture of Joel sent by his family -he kept all the guests waiting and refused to cut his cake .
One of the most challenging cakes to date and hope you like it .
Thanks :)
